US citizens will now be able to get a thris dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. The US government has approved the introduction of a booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer.

The US government has granted approval to apply a Booster Dose of the coronavirus vaccine. The US has approved the introduction of a booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer. 

However, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has reportedly approved the Pfizer COVID-19 Booster Dose only for people over 65 and those at high risk. A proposal to give a booster dose of the Pfizer vaccine to all people over the age of 16 has been rejected.

Amidst the increase in the cases of delta variant of coronavirus in the US, experts recently recommended a booster dose for additional protection from Covid-19. On this, US President Joe Biden said that soon a booster dose will be available for all Americans.

According to media reports, Pfizer and the FDA had sought approval to give booster doses to everyone over the age of 16. However, the panel of expert advisors rejected his plea. He clearly said that the booster dose should be given only to people above 65 years of age or those suffering from serious illness. Along with this, the panel said that the booster dose can prove to be dangerous for the youth.

Booster dose was recommended after 8 months of second dose

Recently, US experts recommended giving a booster dose to people of all ages 8 months after taking the second dose of the vaccine. But the FDA's panel decided the opposite. The FDA is expected to make a decision on the booster in the next few days, but the FDA generally follows the committee's recommendations.

Booster dose will not be used in India yet

Now the question is coming to the fore that when will the booster dose of the coronavirus vaccine be given in India. On this, the Union Health Ministry has clarified and said that the priority is full vaccination of two doses. 

The Union Health Ministry has made it clear that India's priority is to give both doses of the corona vaccine to all people and this will continue. Booster dose is not a central topic in scientific discussion at this time.
