India as a nation has deep spiritual roots. It is the land of the Vedas, the Upanishads, and so many perfect masters. It is well known that Indian spiritual tradition has given Srimad Bhagwad Gita to the world.

Generations of seekers have benefited from the wisdom contained in this scripture. But what remains unknown and hidden underneath the charm of Srimad Bhagwad Gita is the fact that just like Krishna-Arjun Gita, there are many more other Gitas, namely, Uttar Gita, Hans Gita, Ram Gita, Putra Gita, Ashtavakr Gita, Ganesh Gita, Avadhuta Gita, Brahm Gita, Guru Gita, and so on. In fact, the ancient epic Mahabharata itself contains 18 Gitas, only one of which is the Krishna-Arjun Gita.

Today, when the whole of mankind is undergoing a crisis on all possible fronts, when a global pandemic has compelled us to reflect and ask questions that we had erstwhile ignored, spiritual leaders like Acharya Prashant, with a mass social media appeal, are pressing upon the need to take recourse in the gems of ancient Indian spirituality - in the Upanishads and Gitas.

An IIT-IIM alumnus, an ex-civil services officer, and an author of more than sixty books on spirituality, Acharya has launched ‘Upanishad & Wisdom’ - an online course on Upanishads and Gitas for both Indian nationals and foreigners. With this course, he is making the most underground and obscure of Gitas available to the current generation. So far, he has taken classes on 17 types of Gitas and has spoken on more than 60 Upanishads. Acharya is of the opinion that the solution to all socio-politico-economic as well as psychical problems of humankind lies in reading, understanding and implementing the Gitas and the Upanishads.

'Upanishad & Wisdom' is run and managed by PrashantAdvait Foundation, an N.G.O., Acharya runs in order to undertake his mission of reviving the Upanishads. Apart from running in-house courses that teach Vedanta, Acharya’s N.G.O. is also actively collaborating with the top engineering and management institutes across India, and is teaching Vedanta to their students without any fees or donation. Of late, it has organised Acharya’s online classes on Vedanta in premier Indian institutes like IIT Delhi, IIM Ahmedabad, IIT Kanpur, IIT Bombay, NIT Jamshedpur and Banaras Hindu University; and is planning to organise more of these in the coming months.
