Criticising Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has proved to be costly for a BJP leader in Solapur.

Shiv Sena workers poured black ink on him, blackened his face and covered his head with a saree. 

However, following a public outcry, the Maharashtra Police has taken swift action against the accused. An FIR has been registered against 17 activists in the case and these 17 people have also been arrested by the police.

The entire incident was captured in a video. It was not known what the BJP worker had said about Uddhav Thackeray, but it is being told that he had criticized the Maharashtra chief minister. It is worth noting that Maharashtra has a Maha Vikas Aghadi government with alliance of Shiv Sena, Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
