Punjab CM Amarinder Singh responds citizens' concerns on various issues

The Punjab Chief Minister answered a host of questions on various issues, including a complaint from a Patiala Panchayat member regarding rampant production of spurious milk near his village, in response to which Captain Amarinder said he was asking the department to carry out checks and strict action will be taken.

The Punjab Chief Minister answered a host of questions on various issues, including a complaint from a Patiala Panchayat member regarding rampant production of spurious milk near his village, in response to which Captain Amarinder said he was asking the department to carry out checks and strict action will be taken against the culprits.

On the issue of the supply of illegal liquor in village Khadawar, Pathankot, the Chief Minister said he was directing the police to investigate and arrest the criminals. He promised strict action against the culprits, pointing out that the hooch tragedy had taken place in the same areas a few months back.

Captain Amarinder asked his office to get in touch with Nanak Singh, a poor and handicapped old resident of Rajpura after a questioner pointed out that the man was in desperate need of help. He promised all help to Nanak Singh.

The Chief Minister said in response to a Ludhiana resident’s expression of gratitude that he was confident that the Basera scheme will be implemented at the earliest and the benefits will reach the poor.

With respect to a query from a Garhshankar resident on the road to Anandpur Sahib, he said he had already directed the PWD to complete the remaining 1.1 km before the Holla Mohalla, and also assured that the patch work needed on a small part of the road near Kahanpur Khui in Hoshiarpur district will also be completed before the festival.

The Chief Minister said, in response to a Kapurthala youth’s question, that admissions to the Kapurthala Medical College will commence by August this year. As for the over bridge work for the Amritsar Jauda Faatak, he informed an Amritsar resident that the entire amount of Rs. 25 Crore for the Underpass had been deposited by Improvement Trust with Railways, which had called the tenders and the allotment process was at the final stage, with work expected to start soon.

The Chief Minister assured that appointment orders for joining of JEs and LDCs in PSPCL will be issued within this month.
