Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt turned a year older today and his daughter and actress Alia Bhatt wished her ever-energetic dad in a special way. Alia took to her Instagram handle to extend birthday wishes to her dad on his 71st birthday.

Wishing her dad, Alia wrote, ''Hey pops. It’s been great knowing you for the last 26 years.. you’re a good guy. Probably the best.. also the wisest.. also you’re very funny.. did I tell you I think you’re super talented too? 🌞🙃 Happy Birthday Daddy .. You amaze me every single day! Bhatt's elder daughter Pooja Bhatt also wrote an emotional note for the birthday boy. On the professional front, Bhatt is returning to direction after almost two decades with "Sadak 2", a sequel of his 1991 hit "Sadak".

"Sadak", a romantic thriller, featured Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt and was one of the highest-grossing Hindi movies of 1991. The sequel stars Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt.
