Gaithersburg Missile Site Development on Track as Sketch Plan Approved, Renderings in Progress

The former Nike missile site in Gaithersburg, Maryland, is set to be transformed into a residential community after the sketch plan for the Development was approved by the Gaithersburg Planning Commission, according to Moco360.media. The project, which is being spearheaded by Clarksburg-based Pleasants Development and Muddy Branch Investments, LLC, will include up to 380 multifamily units across four development blocks with a height of up to five stories, as reported by MocoShow.

The development plan was presented to the Mayor and City Council in March 2023 and was unanimously approved. Renderings of the development are currently in progress, according to Moco360.media. The former missile site, which contains three missile silos and a collection of barracks and out-buildings, was sold to Pleasants Development in January 2022 for $12 million, according to records.

The project is on track and expected to bring new housing options to the Gaithersburg area in the near future.
