5 Students Named Finalists in the 2023 National History Day Competition

Five Howard, Long Reach, and River Hill high school students were recently named finalists in their respective categories at the 2023 National History Day Competition. The competition, which was held in person at the Xfinity Center at the University of Maryland, recognized students from across the country for their outstanding work in history.

The students from Howard County were recognized for their projects in various categories, including personal documentaries and group performances. The competition was highly competitive, with over 3,000 students from across the country participating.

The National History Day Competition is an annual event that encourages students to explore and research historical topics and creatively present their findings. The competition allows students to develop research, critical thinking, and presentation skills, as well as a deeper understanding and appreciation of history.

The five students from Howard County are an inspiration to their peers and a testament to the quality of education in the area. Their dedication and hard work have earned them a place among the top history students in the country. Congratulations to these outstanding students on their achievement!
