HOW TO UNVEIL YOUR TALENT part 1

I have just $2 with me, meanwhile, someone had deposited ten million dollars in my account, but I’m not aware of it, do you agree that I will go about telling people how broke I am? In fact, despite the huge amount in my account, I won’t be able to afford to buy just a toothbrush. The moment I discover I have ten million dollars in my account, what do you think will happen? Of course! My status will change because I have unveiled my account and realize that I’m a millionaire.

The same is applicable to your Talent; you have to unveil it before you can profit from it. It is very important you unveil your talent so that you can live your purpose and lead others.

In this session, I will take you through 5 PROVEN WAYS to unveil your talent:

  1. Nature
  2. Change
  3. Inner Child
  4. Struggle
  5. Helping Others

NATURE:

Your Nature is like a compass that gives direction to how and where to discover your talent. Your nature is defined by your genetic makeup, behavior, character, and instinct. If a lion should see grass, it will never eat the grass due to its nature. You will agree that if all that is left in the jungle are grasses, it means the Lion will die of hunger. Why? It is because the Lion cannot switch from being carnivorous to herbivore. But what happens, if that lion should see a goat, instinct will tell it to pursue after the goat because the lion’s nature is to eat flesh.

How does your nature direct you to discover your talent? When the hungry lion saw a goat, the lion knew its nature is to eat flesh. But was it the lion’s nature that brought the goat to the lion? Hell no, the lion had to pursue after the goat. In pursuing after the goat, the lion’s HUNTING TALENT was discovered.  In other words, the lion’s nature unveiled the lion’s talent, which was to hunt.

We have to know our nature if we want to unveil our talent. Learn more about yourself. Take personality tests; there are free personality tests like https://www.16personalities.com online.

Also, read more about your personality, your genetic makeup, instinctive behavior, the theory of human behavior etc. You don’t have to be in the field of science or psychology before knowing the science of your body and why you act the way you do; know your emotions, Pay attention to your instinct and conduct a self-analysis. Knowing your nature will help you unveil your talent.

Answer the following questions:

  • What is your personality?
  • What is it that awakens your conscience?
  • What dictates your mood swings?
  • Do you hate criticism?
  • How do you feel when your idea or work gets criticized?
  • What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Answer the questions above carefully and sincerely. Write down your answers, analyze it and focus on it. It will lead you to discover your talent.

CHANGE:

it’s often said that change is a constant thing. As humans, we always desire a change. It could be, change in status, environment, character, or situation. Change is a desire and it pushes you towards unveiling your talent.

How can change push you towards unveiling your talent? Let’s talk about Moses in the bible. He was born an Israelite but adopted into an Egyptian family. Not just any Egyptian family, but the royal family. From every aspect, he was doing great, but yet to unveil his talent. I am sure some Israelite would wish and do anything just to be in Moses position.  However, Moses never feels nor gets the satisfaction he craves for. He wishes for a change. He wants a change of situation; he wants his people (Israelite) to be free in Egypt.  Moses hated it whenever he sees an Egyptian beating an Israelite which was why he intervened when he saw an Egyptian beating an Israelite. His desire for a change pushes him to unveil his talent and his purpose “to lead the Israelites”. We all know the rest of Moses story, how he flew from Egypt, and how God called him to function in his area of the talent he discovered so that he can fulfill purpose.

Your purpose is the essence of your talent and your talent is the ability given to you to lead. When I was a child, I hate it whenever I see people discriminate between male and female.  I so much hate the culture against female child/ women. The sentence you can say to arouse anger in me is not far-fetched. Just at the hearing of “you are a girl, you can’t do it”, I become so angry.  I hate it when my strength, ability, and intelligence are determined by my gender and not my capability. Just because of that sentence, “you are a girl, you can’t do it”, I will do it to prove you wrong. Many people called me stubborn, but who cares? I will not back off until I prove their sentence wrong. Little did I know that my hatred for the culture against women and my desire for a change was pushing me gradually to discover my purpose and to unveil my talent. Now I know my talent, thanks to the desire for a Change.  Answer these few questions sincerely?

  • What do you hate most?
  • What is it that easily gets you pissed off?
  • Do you wish you have a Superman power to stop the reoccurrence of what you hate most?
  • Do you desire a change?
  • In what area do you desire change?

Write down your answers to the above questions, and carefully analyze it. Take note of the issues with the highest frequency, then write down what changes you desire and how you can change what you hate the most because most times, your true talent lies in what you hate most. This will help you to unveil your talent.

I will talk about the remaining 3 PROVEN WAYS to unveil your talent in my next write up. Thank you!
