Earn and Save Money with your Smart Phone
Now unless you are living a minimalist existence in the Himalayas with some rather chilled out Monks the chances are I’m going to presume you have a smartphone. Now these devices while turning us all into Zombies (it also pays to look up once in awhile and put the phone down) can in turn earn you some easy money. Now while I can’t promise to earn you enough to buy that Lamborghini I can promise to put some currency back into your pocket.
Now I'm a iPhone User - however all the apps I am going to mention are available on Androids and all other phone devices. The first thing to maybe sort out on your phone is the clutter - If like me and you like apps - you're going to probably have pages and pages of apps - this is all very well - but keeping track of the apps that can make you money or save you money is imperative if they are ever going to amount to anything. I like to categorise my apps - See the Below Picture - Yes I know it’s a little crazy but it's the way I like things organised and I guess it’s the way my brain works - you have to do what works for you.

If the apps give you a discount - then label them under discount. If they are apps that require you to do a little work maybe call them jobs and so on. It’s your phone so you are in control but make sure you remember these apps otherwise they will never make you any money.
So let us begin.
Saving/Earning Money when making Bookings.
Ok While you have to spend money to make money - it can add up overtime - We all have to buy things even when trying to live minimalistic lifestyles. Well by having the app on your phone - it allows you to make that purchase of flights, hotels, takeaway that little more affordable. For example - I know I have to book a hotel in Las Vegas - And I have already decided on which hotel I’m going to stay at. Now the key here is to establish where the Hotel is cheapest - to do this you are going to need 1 of 3 apps - either the Trivago, Kayak or Tripadvisor app. Personally I prefer the Trivago app for the pricing of hotels and Tripadvisor for the Ratings of hotels. Going with Trivago App - I go seek out which Travel Agent can offer me the best price for staying at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas in August. I Search on Trivago and then I see the cheapest rate is Amoma.com are offering the hotel at £98 a night.
Now this is where I utilise TopCashBack or Quidco. Usually these two are pretty much the same. However - I’ve generally discovered TopCashBack offer consistently slightly better cash-back. But by having both apps on your phone - it means it doesn't take a moment to check. At the time of writing this article - as you can see TopCashBack are offering 8% Cash-back and Quidco are offering me only 6% cash-back.

Now while 8% isn’t the best I’ve seen it isn’t bad. It’s worth checking to see if there is much of a price difference between Amoma and all the other travel agents - for example - it's not a rarity to see Expedia offering sometimes close to 20% cashback - but they can do that because their prices are generally going to be higher - however when they are about the same or cheaper - then it’s a no brainer to use Expedia. So the next step is obviously to access Amoma via the the TopCashBack app. You click though - and it takes you to Amoma. I find the Price via the phone - and then if I book the price would be £388 for 4 nights.
Now with 8% cashback from TopCashBack that gets paid to you usually within 30 days - that’s £31.04 in your pocket. Now TopCashback usually improve this by 1-2% depending on promotion. Now while it doesn't sound like a lot of money. It’s money you wouldn't have received if you had just booked the Hotel normally. Hence in my mind that’s Money made from a Booking. And if you book the hotel with your credit card - you will likely also earn air-miles, cash-back or points depending on what credit card you are set-up with.
The above technique can be done for flights, car rental, packages and all types of shopping.

So how else can we utilise the apps on our phone to Earn us money?
Be My Eye - This is a new app I recently discovered - you basically take on the task of a secret shopper. Jobs will appear in your local neighbourhood - and you can choose to accept them by clicking on them. Now they don’t pay you a fortune but it can be anywhere between £3 and £20 a job for a few minutes of your time. The last job I accepted on this app I had to walk into a William Hill Bookmakers - Take a Picture of the Outside of the shop and then 2 pictures of the inside of the shop - I then had to ask a staff member if they knew anything about the William Hill app - once I had done this I had to evaluate their knowledge in a couple of sentences - submit the details on the app and then for this job that took me less than 5 minutes I was paid £3.20 for the pleasure. Now obviously this isn’t going to pay the bills - but in my mind it’s pocket money.

Another App similar to Be My Eye and Clic and Walk is Roamler - the only problem with this one - you have to be invited to join the community - it actually has more missions than any of the other apps (hence bigger earning potential) - but like I said it requires a invite. Another way to Save Money via your phone is via the App “Zeek” Basically if like me you shop on Amazon, Use iTunes and Drink at Starbucks from time to time (remember don’t drink there all the time - spread your Coffee cash everywhere). Then it makes sense buy vouchers on Zeek from this app. I can generally Save 30%+ buying a Starbucks Voucher on this app than if I were to just top up my Starbucks account manually. And of course if you pay for Coffee with the Starbucks app it acts as a rewards card by giving you free Coffees.

An Online rewards and cashback programme - similar to Topcashback but simply by doing surveys and signing up to things you will earn Swagbucks. Swagbucks can be converted into Paypal and Amazon vouchers. You should download the Swagbucks TV App for your phone. Simply by running some videos during the day on your phone you will also earn Swagbucks.

Similar to "Cashpoint" App - although admission it’s a little slower to earn the cash - however it is very simple and it takes up only a couple of minutes a day. You Login, Check in each day and you will earn 25 Coins, You Watch a video you earn 3 Coins, You Get shown an Advert you earn 1 coin, and so on and so on. A very clever marketing app - the Receipt Hog Team will pay you coins which can be converted into Amazon and Paypal vouchers. It pays you because it expects you to take pictures of all your shopping receipts - obviously this takes some getting used to remembering to do but if you get into a habit of taking a picture of your receipt via the app after every time you have been to the local supermarket in no time at all you will be earning Money fro Nothing.
