The Fourth of July

It truly thrills me to see the flag unfurled and flying in the wind! It really does! Yet I know many crimes have been, and still are being committed in that flag’s name, in our name. We’ve done good, but we’ve never fully realized all that banner stands for. Le’t keep trying in the spirit of all are created Equal, with equal rights and opportunities.

I thrill to Cagney doing George M. Cohan, the music, dancing and ideals. I pray all Americans of every political, religious, racial and economic background thrill as I do, yearn as I do and that each of us will, in our own hearts and minds, accept our response-ability to make America what it can be for ourselves and the world.
