A Poem for Wise Wednesday

Man on riding mower
so much bigger than his machine
looking silly.

Same person, you, I, anyone
driving a semi, tank or 747

huge machines,
not so silly anymore.

Consider the wonder and horror
of it today – one person, a small group of people
driving the United States of America

where?

Toward what? Away from what?

Should he and they be stopped?

How, without throwing the baby
out with the bathwater?

What can I do?
What will I do?
