Understanding the Jesus Story as a story, re-told here in the first person as if Jesus were telling it himself and coaching us, carries meaning for people of all faiths, even those with no formal religious faith.
When I said “I am with you always,” I meant it literally. I am not absent to anyone in any situation. The one power I am, you are. You did not make this power, any more than I did. It exists to be shared. Therefor, it cannot be meaningfully perceived as belonging to me alone, or anyone at the expense of another.
