Job Aspirant Files a Case To Cancel SBI Clerk 2016 Exam

S. Gurukrishna Gokul, a Job Aspirant has filed a public Interest litigation (PIL) in the Madras High Court against the State Bank of India to direct the SBI to issue a fresh notification for all candidates to apply.

The issue rose after the SBI added one more eligibility condition apart from the regular ones for age and educational qualifications; loan repayment was a precondition to be eligible to apply for the exam.

The SBI in its recent clerical notification had declared candidates with record of default in repayment if loans will not be eligible to apply for these jobs.

According to the petition this will prevent a large number of economically and socially backward candidates from applying for the posts. This will make them ineligible to apply for the exam.

The Madras High Court bench has issued notices to the SBI chairman and central government. They are required to file their explanation on this PIL within 2 weeks.
