In school the highest grade that I could get was “B” not even “B+”. In 10th I scored 86% which I feel was mostly due to good internal marks that my teachers gave me. A teacher at school said to me in anger that YOU WILL FAIL MISERABLY IN ACADEMICS ONE FINE DAY AND THEN YOU WILL REALISE WHAT LIFE IS. It did not hit me or my heart anyways but it did felt bad, it did hurt. I knew that engineering and MBBS are things which are premium but I can’t afford them. So according to my father and my great aunt’s advice I took admission for Commerce for pursuing Law. It was during 11th STD my coaching class teacher Mr. Ajay Shahane told me to go for CA i.e Chartered Accountancy. Till that date I did not even knew what does CA even mean. That very specific day I told my brother and father about this and they said, if sir is telling then go for it. A little search on Google retrieved results as TOUGHEST COURSE IN INDIA WITH LESS THAN 9~10% passing percentage. Next day I asked my sir, how you feel I can do it when the probability of passing is just 10%, to which he said, WHY I WILL PLAY WITH YOUR CAREER BY GIVING WRONG ADVICE? GO FOR IT, I CAN SEE IT HAPPENING. Without any next question, I decided to go for this premium course. Next thing was COST FOR PURSUING THIS COURSE and by visiting Nashik ICAI Branch I got to know that complete fees till final exams comes to less than Rs. 1 lacs. Imagine, a premium course, a degree which holds itself as graduation, post-graduation, directly recognised and given attestation authority in UK, Australia, Dubai, Bahrain, Canada, Djibouti, Ireland and direct entry to premium professions of practising as local CAs of all developed and developing nations in the world. Not only this, having a fraternity of just 2.8 lacs members (2017), authority to change the prefix from MR. To CA., various exclusive benefits like term insurance plans, collateral free loans, special credit card and what not. And lastly, most imp., the starting average package for fresher CA in metro cities is Rs. 10 Lacs P.A. This professional degree will give us more than what we expect from our educational degrees and investment is just Rs.1 lacs. Being too optimistic I enrolled for it and gave my first exam with local classes conducted at ICAI Nashik branch with 9,000/- as total fees and Accounting classes from our beloved Ajay Sir. Cleared the exam in one go with 161/200. I was not able to digest it and students senior to me used to tell me, entrance SAB KAR LETE HAIN, AAGE BOHOT DIFFICULT HAIN. And my Ajay sir used to tell me, Chinmay, only two things you can do is studying and being optimistic. Each new day I was negative towards the course due to the books. My god, 45 books (including coaching class notes) for CA Intermediate 8 subjects plus clear all subjects with min 40 marks and aggregate of all obtained marks should be 50% of maximum marks. Imagine, no ATKT or drops, it’s either pass or start again! I then enrolled for CA inter classes at local ICAI Nashik centre at total cost of Rs.32,000/- and in first attempt was able to clear only first group by giving both groups. For the next attempt, PUBG was a new challenge as I loved the game a lot and entire October 2018 I was like please study for 6 hours so that next 6 can be invested in playing. And wohoo, cleared the second group also in November 2018. For all those seniors around me who used to say that it’s not easy, don’t take things lightly, I was done with more than half of the course at the age of 19. Articleship period was best and of tremendous exposure. My principal’s name was CA Ajay Nagdev and my real grooming happened at that point of time. I learned that amidst all the premium-ness of this course, there exist TOUGH LEVEL OF EFFORTS AND NOBODY IS ABLE TO PUT THIS MUCH FOR THIS COURSE. AND THOSE WHO ARE ABLE TO ARE EITHER LUCKY OR HAVE EXPERIENCED GREAT PAIN WHICH MADE THEM DO IT. And I CONSIDER MYSELF LUCKY! Nonetheless, my principal supported me at every stage whether it be preparatory leaves or learning at office. For my CA Finals in July 2021, I was again negative, negative like anything. My real brother had his engagement in June 2021 and I was like, why am I even doing all this? Why? Either way, we are gonna die one day, nothing is going to remain here. And again, my Tution’s Ajay sir pinged me to remind that YOU HAVE NOTHING TO DO EXCEPT STUDYING AND BEING OPTIMISTIC. But it is always like, when things are destined to happen, they happen! I failed July 2021 exams with huge difference of marks 355/800. 7 days it took me to complete my crying and one fine morning, something struck through me, as if now was the time for me to get up and finish the running. Thanks to CA Neha Datta and Mitesh Khatri for their YouTube law of attraction videos. 13/09/2021 was my result day and on 20/09/2021 I woke up early at 6 and jotted down the poem of Kuwar Narayan on a paper, I drew a mock mark sheet of my result, I wrote a Bhagvat Gita’s quote and pasted them all on my study wall and started studying. This time not for passing CA but for ALL INDIA RANK. Days used to pass like anything and day by day I used to feel more and more happy as if my manifestation was coming close. 01/12/2021 was my real brother’s wedding and 05/12/2021 was my first paper, imagine! And I was literally telling everyone at my brother’s wedding that I will ping you all the destination for my CA Party. Days passed by, and for writing papers I was so excited. I don’t know from where this excitement came but it was there. Then came the day, 10/02/2022, I saw PASS on my online result, I hugged my mother and we cried like anything. Though I couldn’t get a rank but I cleared the destination. Everything happened in a moment and few days after it I again heard of those seniors still attempting exams. I am not mocking anyone but no one can predict anyone. No one can. For a minute I was a backbencher at school and for the next, I achieved something extraordinary. For a moment, I was someone who was mocked by seniors and for next, I am something which they are dreaming of! Never mock or make fun of someone dreaming high, his time is on time, and it will arrive, for sure. And today, I recall my school teacher’s statement. Had she been in front of me saying the same statement today, I would have greatly replied, ‘HOLD MY DEGREE CERTIFICATE’.
