Best Hilton Head Island Restaurants

Two of the questions Irsquo;m most frequently ask are ldquo;Which restaurants do you recommend?rdquo; and ldquo;Where do the locals go?rdquo;nbsp; Do you know we have over 250 restaurants on our little Island? When it comes to dining on Hilton Head Island, there is something for everyone and for every budget. For an A-Z list of restaurants on the Island, click on the link below. http://www.hiltonheadisland.org/dining/restaurants/?action=filteramp;location=1amp;subcategory=0filter Canrsquo;t choose from such a large list, here are some of my favoriteshellip;hellip; If you are a seafood lover and looking for a spot where the locals frequent, try Hilton Headrsquo;s best hidden seafood secret, The Sea Shack. Itrsquo;s the locals favorite spot for the freshest seafood and down-home southern, low-country style cooking. Nothing fancy, and very casual, but worth finding itnbsp; http://seashackhhi.com/ Another casual local favorite is Jump and Philrsquo;s fondly referred to as the ldquo;Cheersrdquo; of Hilton Head.nbsp; Although the original owner John ldquo;Jumprdquo; Griffin is no longer behind the bar, his name and the name of his late partner, Phil Henry, remain at the popular Restaurant. Longtime Bartender Lawrence Powell and his wife recently purchased the restaurant which is located at the Triangle on Greenwood Drive across from the Sea Pines Welcome Center. Also remaining is the moose head on the wall, Waldo.nbsp; If you eat there, be sure to rub Waldorsquo;s nose for good lucknbsp; How about Breakfast amp; Lunch?nbsp; If you want a real local favorite, stop at Haroldrsquo;s Diner on 278 at Singleton Beach Road.nbsp; Yoursquo;ll see a lot of working locals grabbing breakfast on their way to the office or a chili burger amp; fries at lunch.nbsp; A new favorite among tourists and locals is The French Bakery in Shelter Cove Towne Center.nbsp; Previously located in Pineland Mall, the bakery relocated to Shelter Cove when demolition started on Pineland Mall. For more information and the menu, go to http://frenchbakeryhiltonhead.com/ An all-time favorite with everyone is the Palmetto Bay Sun Rise Cafeacute; at Palmetto Bay Marina.nbsp; Get there early and get a table on the porchnbsp; http://palmettobaysunrisecafe.com/ Dinner options on the Island are so abundant and diverse, but here are a few of my favorites: Ombra in Wexford Village is 1 in my book for fine Italian cuisine, the freshest fish and seafood from local markets and premier Italian wines. http://www.ombrahhi.com/ Michael Anthonyrsquo;s on New Orleans Road is another fine Italian restaurant and wonderful dining experience. For something different, try their Sips and Bites.nbsp; Offered in the Bar only every day from 5-6:30 pm, Sips and Bites features a trio of small plate tastings paired with three wines for $19.00.nbsp; The menu changes every Monday. Reservations are suggested in the bar so call to guarantee you get a seat for this popular wine pairing menu.nbsp; (Please note that bar reservations cannot be made online) http://www.michael-anthonys.com/ My two favorite places to eat with a water views - ELArsquo;s Blu Water Grille on the Harbour at Shelter Cove. ELArsquo;s features fresh catch seafood and prime cut steaks. Serving lunch and dinner, and a great Sunday Brunch. Eat inside or on the garden patio. http://www.elasgrille.com/nbsp; And The Chart House Seafood Restaurant located on the north end of the Island overlooking Skull Creek is a wonderful place to enjoy live entertainment and amazing sunsets. http://www.chart-house.com/locations/hilton-head/ If you love French food, be sure to visit Charliersquo;s Lrsquo;Etoile Verte located on New Orleans Road.nbsp; Charliersquo;s has been a favorite of locals for over 25 years.nbsp; With a diverse menu that suits every taste, itrsquo;s a perfect place for a romantic dinner, or to just sit in the cozy bar/lounge and enjoy a drink. http://charliesgreenstar.com/ Anyone for Thai food?nbsp; Try Ruan Thai I located on William Hilton Parkway just outside the entrance to Palmetto Dunes.nbsp; Taste authentic Thai cooking at its finest. www.myruanthai.com As Irsquo;m writing this, I keep thinking of other wonderful restaurants on the Island, but I donrsquo;t have enough space to writer them all, and Irsquo;m hungry so Irsquo;m going to lunch nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; Oceanfront Homes for Sale Oceanfront Villas for Sale Golf Homes for Sale under $600,000 Bluffton Homes for Sale under $500,000 nbsp;
