If you’re cruising around online looking for some general Nanaimo information and have never been here, then maybe this video will get you started on finding out of what life is like here.  Those who made it pushed the hard sell more than I would, but regardless, it does paint a pretty good picture of Nanaimo for those who’ve never had the pleasure of visiting.

As an aside, after a recent trip back from Tokyo after having spent January there, one of the first things I said to one of my fellow Realtors was “You’d have to be nuts to not want to live on the west coast. The air is so clean and breathable, the tap water is actually pleasant,  it’s so quiet, laid back, low stress, has a good economy, the cost of living is manageable and I can drive from anywhere to anywhere in Nanaimo in 20 minutes or less. And it’s not like it’s one of those way out in the sticks kind of towns either” Where I was in Tokyo, there were sirens (ambulance, fire) every 5 to 10 minutes, constant an I mean CONSTANT traffic noise, the pollution was incredible, you expect about an hour or so of travel time (each way) every time you go somewhere, it’s crowded and people are basically super high strung. I enjoyed my visit, but I’m so glad I don’t live there anymore, so glad to be back in the healthy lifestyle I have here.
