The curious case of Indian job hunting

The last few months has been fast paced. Being in the recruitment space, there is so much to learn about people and the struggles one faces in their job hunt.

What is going wrong today?
We have job boards like Naukri, Timesjobs etc who post all kind of jobs and force the candidates to see and apply for jobs they may not be interested in.

Back in 2011, I quit my job and tried to startup and failed. After three months of struggle, I set out on my job search journey. Obviously, I had to go to these job boards. After registering as a job seeker, I started getting calls, mails and what not. One such call was for a receptionist. Seriously? They gotta be kidding right?

I eventually got a job in a week, but the painful calls and mails haven't stopped (I still get mails even though I have deactivated my account). Thankfully, I changed my number (YAAAAY, no more spam calls).

When my teammate Vishnu came and spoke about his idea for HuntShire, I could instantly relate to the problem and felt that it would solve the pain point that many like me would have faced and would still be facing.

Why is it going wrong?
Too many middleman. There are way too many consultants in the market. If there is some company that I want to work for, there is no way I can reach out to them. My resume, both from the career sites and Job boards never reaches them. It only matters what college I am from (or what previous company I worked for).

What is the solution?
At HuntShire we are working towards a solution for the problems that we faced once. No more spamming and no more middleman. And the best part is if you are good enough, company will give you a call.

At HuntShire we are enabling you to showcase your skills first and resume later. This also means that companies are able to find you soon.

Where are we with the solution?
We are working towards it. We had previously spammed (like a consultant) out of necessity. But NO MORE! We are trying to bring in a few big names in the Analytics domain and soon you would be able to hunt for the jobs that interest you in this fast-paced and lucrative Analytics domain through HuntShire.
