Supporting a Fantastic Job Creation Initiative

Three Q Recruitment are proud supporters of the Hireland Initiative. Hireland is a voluntary initiative, aimed at SMEs to hire one extra person this year.

  • From a survey they carried out, Hireland have provided us with some really interesting statistics about Ireland’s jobs and employment landscape at the moment.
  • Hiring one individual from the live register can result in increased public revenue of €379.63 per individual per week.
  • 35% companies that hired new staff last year are from Information & Communication sectors. Less than 5% are from the agricultural sector.
  • 45% of businesses were attracted to the Hireland initiative due to its ‘feel good factor’.
  • The main barrier for Irish companies to hiring a new staff member is the cost of employing them. Only 2% said it would be due to their company underperforming.
  • 43% of businesses said more government incentives would encourage them to hire.
  • Nearly 60% of the surveyed companies that hired new starts last year had under 20 employees.

The results clearly show that Companies in Ireland are still willing to hire and want to hire but need government incentives in order to stimulate employment. While some sectors continue to create plentiful employment opportunities others are struggling to do so.
