More women in IT could boost the economy

Nominet a global internet registry company commissioned a new Report which suggests that increasing the number of females working in IT could generate up to an additional 2.6bn pounds per year for the UK Economy.   The report which was aptly released on International Girls in ICT Day found that if the Gender Gap was reduced and women filled the IT skills shortage, the UK would benefit substantially. “Women currently make up less than one fifth of the IT workforce, and based on current trends the IT gender gap is set to widen slightly over the coming years” – (See more at: http://www.recruiter.co.uk/news/2014/04/more-women-in-it-could-boost-uk-economy/#sthash.bkiekQsP.dpuf)
