Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), the largest vehicle maker in the Indian auto market, has said that it will be marking debut in the rapidly growing compact MUV (Multi Utility Vehicle) segment by the first quarter of next financial year. The company had showcased its much anticipated Ertiga MUV Model at the Delhi International auto expo, which received staggering response from the visiting car enthusiasts.
Maruti Ertiga, which will be a three row seven seater model, is expected to be carrying a price tag of Rs 6 to 7 lakh, where it will be giving a tough fight to the likes of Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo and Tata Aria.
Powered by a 1.4 Liter K14 VVT petrol engine the new Maruti MUV will be Delivering a peak power of 95PS along with a peak torque of 130Nm. In addition to this, a 1.3L engine is also expected to find a place in the Ertiga’s line-up, which is capable of delivering a peak power of 90PS along with a peak torque of 200Nm.
This is the same diesel engine to which Maruti sources from Italian car maker Fiat for its car models like Maruti Swift, Ritz, Swift Dzire and SX4 model. While the petrol version of the car will be delivering a mileage of up to 16 km per liter, the diesel version will be delivering a fuel economy of 20 .77 km per liter.
