Edinburgh’s Burgers and Beers Finalist in Britain’s Best Burger Competition

An Edinburgh Burger restaurant has been named as a finalist in the Britain’s Best Burger competition. Burgers and Beers’ hand-perfect patties and local ingredients confirmed the outlet as one of six finalists in the competition to identify the best burgers on offer in Britain.

The blogger known as ‘Burgerac’, Gavin Lucas, led a panel of judges to decide the six finalists. He said: ‘It’s great to see operators doing the basics well and using the customisable nature of burgers to inject some real personality into their menus.’

Rhodri Morgan, marketing manager at CIS Excellence Restaurant of the Year sponsor, Unilever Food Solutions, which devised and organises the competition, added: ‘Burgers and Beers impressed our judges on everything from produce to presentation.’

Sponsored by Hellmann’s, the competition seeks to identify and celebrate the best burger in the British Isles. The winner will be announced on 30th August.

Finalists include:

  • Burgers and Beers, Edinburgh
  • Burger Brothers, Brighton
  • Jam Jar, Newcastle
  • The Grazing Shed, Cardiff
  • MEAT59, Torquay
  • Annie’s Burger Shack, Nottingham

Each of the above receives £2,500-worth of PR support for reaching the final, and will compete to take the grand prize of £10,000-worth of PR support.
