Soon? I hope so! We have been Waiting for the redesigned GLC300 for a long, long time now. They have been produced, shipped and are currently waiting at the Vehicle Preparation Center (the VPC) for a wholesale date. I think we are actually pretty close this time and I am hoping to see one in person before the end of April 2023.

Why are they so delayed? I can guess at a few things, but we’ll never have a firm answer. We had a similar delay while waiting for the redesigned 2022 C-Class sedan so it is a familiar situation. Possibly a combination of parts shortages and disruptions caused by the pandemic just slowed it all down! Maybe the factory in Germany was tied up with other things? It has certainly had time to build up demand!
What can we do while we wait? Well, the GLC and the C-Class sedan share a lot of components. If you sit in the 2022 or 2023 C300 you are getting a pretty good idea of the GLC layout, just lower to the ground. You can also use the Build Your Own Section at MBUSA.com to get a pretty good idea of the equipment and packages that will be available. The GLC Build Your Own probably won’t go live until the car is launched.
While we’re here, why don’t we have an EQC SUV in the US? We almost did! For several years we had trainings and almost launches for that model. Eventually it was decided that the EQS would be a better introduction to Mercedes-EQ models for the US market. Perhaps when the EQC gets redesigned based on the new GLC or another architecture, we’ll have another chance.
The base pricing for the GLC has been announced at $48,100 plus destination and delivery. I would expect most of the incoming inventory to be between $53-$56,000.
If you are planning on a new GLC you can currently place a custom order, look at all of the incoming units and select something that works, or wait to see it in person. I am 100% sure it is going to be a hit!
