Theft Leads to Burglary Charges
A 22-year-old Ventura man faces charges of theft following a burglary there.

According to police, the man broke into a Ventura home last week and stole credit cards and property belonging to the resident. No one was home at the time of the break-in. Police later discovered that someone was using the stolen credit cards at the Pacific View Mall. After developing the man as a suspect in the burglary, officers located the man at the mall. At the time of the arrest, the man also had credit cards stolen from a vehicle break-in. He also had property taken from the Ventura home.

Police arrested him for the burglaries and thefts. They also arrested him on a burglary warrant from Los Angeles County. He faces two felony burglary charges and two special allegations for prior offenses. If found true, the special allegations will eliminate his eligibility for parole. He also faces eight misdemeanor charges related to identity Theft. Charges on his outstanding warrant in Los Angeles will be handled separately. The man remains jailed in lieu of a $170,000 bail. He will return to court on August 9 for matters related to his case.
