Opinion: All These Sexual Misconduct Allegations

Fact Vs. Opinion

One of the many reasons why I love conducting forensic statement Analyses is because they require no interpretation. It doesn’t matter how I personally feel about anyone or any situation. I take the words verbatim and apply an analytical process to them.  I like black and white.

However, below you will read my opinion. Based on some of the messages I’ve received recently, it seemed like a good time to write a blog post about the plethora of allegations pertaining to sexual misconduct, poor behavior, and assault.

I received an email suggesting I was defending the male abusers, and calling the female victims, liars. That characterization simply isn’t true.

Let Me Be Clear

I’m sure in many cases the Women making the complaints were indeed harassed, treated poorly or assaulted. I’m sure of that. That is 100% unacceptable. I have strong feelings about this subject.

I am also confident that some of the women making the allegations against the men are not being entirely truthful. Some parts of their statements may be true; but there are parts that are clearly embellished or didn’t happen at all. Some are in it for their 15 minutes of fame or are just cruel, selfish people.

False Allegations Cause a Ripple Effect

Women who fabricate accusations make it so much more difficult for bona fide victims to come forward. It is already an extremely difficult, vulnerable position to be in; we don’t need to be disbelieved when we have the courage to come forward.

Women who see no harm in lying about what happened can ruin a man’s career and personal life. Moreover, it won’t just ruin one person’s life; his loved ones will also have that ugly (untrue) cloud follow them around.

My Analyses

If you choose to read my analyses, don’t interpret. Just as I am not interpreting the words, I implore you not to try to interpret my feelings about the subjects. If you try to guess how I personally feel about something I am analyzing, there’s a good chance you’ll be incorrect. But more importantly, how I personally feel about someone I am analyzing does not matter. My analyses aren’t opinions. They’re the results of the data provided. In these cases, the data are the actual words.

GRL PWR

But women should stick together, right? I’m all for supporting other women but I won’t do it strictly to wave a Girl Power, Boss Babe or any other estrogen club flag. My analyses aren’t gender biased.

Judge, Jury, and Executioner

Lastly, shame on the media for being judge, jury, and executioner based solely on accusations just to make headlines. And shame on those who buy into it, at least prematurely. It may be hard to argue that some of the accused men might be dogs, misogynists, and even dirt bags, however, their less than stellar character does not automatically mean they’re guilty of everything they’re accused of.

That is all.
