PLAID NATION is Getting its Plaid on for the Heritage Harbour Town Golf Links Tournament. The celebration of the 50th year of the Harbour Town Heritage Links Golf Tournament has begun. Sunday February 19th marked the 50th day prior to opening day of the tournament. Though a little cloudy the Temperature was in the high 70’s.  Naturally it was time to have a party.  It was a celebration for the wonderful folks who volunteer to work the tournament. It is also a celebration for those who love to attend the tournament and the game of golf. There were several thousand in attendance; strolling leisurely around the harbour, sitting in the rockers, visiting the shops and dining at the Quarter Deck. Many donning the Signature Tartan Plaid in the form of jackets, shorts, Shirts, hats and visors. There were booths to purchase such items as well. Our local radio station 104.9 the Surf was broadcasting about the event.  A terrific local band was entertaining everyone from under the old Oak Tree. The distinctive Stripes on the Light House were officially unveiled with the Signature Tartan Plaid and the number 50. It looks very majestic and inspiring. It is at the entrance to the new Harbour town pier. The pier looks beautiful and strong with Tartan flags displayed its entire length. You could have your picture taken in a plaid golf cart or next to a giant golf bag with Sir. Willie Innes, the ambassador mascot. The Tournament is April 9th to 15th.
