Experience the Thrilling Evacuation of Dunkirk in WebVR

Local

As Christopher Nolan’s new war thriller, Dunkirk, hit theaters this week chronicling the incredible rescue of 400,000 allied soldiers from the German army during WWII, so launched a multiplayer Webvr experience inviting players to attempt an escape from the very beaches where the famous battle took place.

Created in partnership with Warner Bros, the LA offices of digital design and experience studio, Jam3, and Google, the Dunkirk Webvr game is one of the first WebVR experiences where one player’s choices directly affect the other as each takes on the role of two trapped soldiers attempting escape. The game is accessible as a co-play on all devices or using any WebVR supporting headset, and users have the option to play with a friend or be paired up randomly.

No strangers to intricate WebVR work – they recently launched the much-lauded Bear71 WebVR experience in sequel to its award-winning Bear71 interactive documentary – Jam3 handled the design and production of the Dunkirk WebVR game, working closely with the teams at Google to push the limits of WebVR both in-browser and cross-platform.
