On February 1 2021, Announcing Atmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Scheme, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Said “I have provided Rs 35,000 crore for Covid-19 vaccine in this year 2021-22… I am committed to provide further funds if required. So the Budget outlay for health and well-being is Rs 2,23,846 crore in 2021-22, as against only Rs 94,452 crore (in 2020-21) and it marks an increase of 137 per cent.”

The Total Budget for Atmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana 2021 is Rs 64, 180 crores. “It is for health infrastructure over 6 years to be Rs 64,180 crore. The investment in healthcare sector has increased “substantially” in this budget as the government focuses on strengthening institutions” said Nirmala Sitharaman.
