New townhomes and condos are coming to Shaw with the introduction of The Collection at R Street. The project consists of some new construction as well as the redevelopment of a former schoolhouse. When finished, The Collection will be home to 21 new townhomes and condos, 12 of which have been redesigned out of a former 19th century schoolhouse. These homes range in size from around 1,200 to 2,300 square feet of living space. Some of the smallest plans contain two-bedroom and two-baths, but there are also some two-level penthouse condos with two-bedrooms and 2.5-baths. Some of the units of The Collection include decks, terraces, or even two-tiered rooftops, while there are also some units with unique advantage of oversized backyards. A single-family rowhome on the property contains four-bedrooms, 4.5-baths, and four-levels of living space.  Many units that make up The Collection come with high ceilings and a large amount of outdoor space. As well, you’ll find some high-end finishes, designer fixtures and large windows. Other common additions include hardwood floors and gourmet kitchens with a walk-in pantry, quartz countertops and Bosh appliances. The Collection at R Street sits between New Jersey Avenue and 5th Street, on R Street.  This positions residents right in the heart of Shaw, plus also close to Logan Circle, U Street and Bloomingdale.
