Samphire Hoe, farm shops and hot port

Saturday - and a day off from thinking about getting more work, training websites etc. Well not quite. My partner and I took a walk around Samphire Hoe, near Dover and decided while we were getting blown about that it would be better to target anyone we knew professionally for an email press release on Flying Horse Media. We reckon that a 'cold' email to unknown PRs etc won't work. We will compile our list on the Day of Rest.

Then it was on to the farm shop to get some veggies for a ratatouille, two doughnuts (the stress is making us crave sugar!) and some chicken and mince. My partner fancied some black pudding so that went in the basket too (the stress is making us crave fat).

It's hot port time (the stress is making us crave alcohol). I got into hot ports in Ireland - what a sensible idea to serve hot alcoholic drinks (hot port, hot whisky) in pubs.

Sometimes a cold lager in the winter just doesn't hit the mark. But port, with hot water, lemon and cloves, now that is just the thing on a cold, bitter night. That and an electric blanket set to its highest temperature. Smoking!
