Last week, Lake Havasu hosted the biggest boat show in the Southwest. Next week, we host the Desert Storm Poker Run 2021. I cannot think of a better way to test out your new toy than to take it out on the lake for a bit of card-playing fun.

Desert Storm Poker Run 2021
Organizers have been busy setting up the docks for next week’s event out on Lake Havasu. Boat owners from outside the Havasu area already began making their way into town earlier this week. (That includes the one in the photo above…Super Fast Cat…that showed up on Monday.) More and more performance boats show up each and every day. This year’s event may very well prove to be the best one yet!
Event Schedule
Procrastinators miss out on participating in this year’s Poker Run. Unfortunately, every ticket sold out early. However, organizers want to include as many people as possible in the fun. They invite the public to join them at Party on Main Street Thursday, April 22nd. From 1 pm to 9 pm, come see some of the boats entered in Saturday’s Poker Run. Their owners put them on display along Havasu’s Main Street. Enjoy live music while you walk from boat to boat.
From 11 am to 11:30 am on Friday, April 23rd, Poker Run participants parade their boats from Thompson Bay through the Channel. If you want a prime spot for viewing, bring your lawn chairs to London Bridge Beach or the Bridgewater Channel. This is a fun sight you definitely will not want to miss! After the parade, the Desert Storm Poker Run 2021 begins.
The entire competition culminates in the most favorite event of all on Saturday…the Desert Storm Shootout. Boaters race through a specially set up course out on the lake. It starts near Site Six and runs south from there. If you want to watch the action, your best viewing spots are located on the Island’s bluffs from Site Six to Spectator Point. Lots of action. Lots of fun. See you there!
