Who needs it?

I was talking the other day to a business owner about what I do. I was taken back when he said I was scamming people. I inquired further why he thought that. He simply did not think it was necessary to have electrical safety tests. I didn't even try to convince him that he was wrong. in a way I understood where he was coming from. Although he had over 20 pieces of electrical equipment he was the only one who had access to it and was in his mind the only one that was in danger. he seemed to trust himself enough.

"That's OK" I said "as long as there is documentation of regular checks."

Of course not.

"Well hope you don't have any electrical related accidents then." I smiled and walked away.

I smiled because I wasn't the one responsible for failing to meet regulations. it is quite likely that he may go on with no accidents. but if he is electrocuted or a fire starts on his premise with out the documentation showing he has done all he could to prevent injury or damage there is a chance of law suits or the insurance rejecting a claim also fines and imprisonment.

I have yet to find a site which has had a perfect record most of them are surprised at the things I uncover. many of them are simple to fix too. To see or house of horrors at; http://www.wiltshire-pat-testing.co.uk/pat%20testing%20horrors.html

TechnoServ also keeps a record of all work done so that the customer always has a copy they can obtain.
