The aim of the fellowship is to attract highly skilled researchers (Indian Nationals) who are currently working overseas in various disciplines of life sciences and biotechnology, bio-engineering, healthcare (human and animal), agriculture and veterinary biotechnology, bio-energy, and related fields. The fellowship provides an attractive opportunity for these researchers to pursue their scientific research and development interests in Indian Universities.

Educational Qualification: Applicants should hold a Ph.D./M.D. degree or its equivalent in life sciences/agriculture, bioinformatics, and related areas, or an M.Tech. degree in Biotechnology/allied areas/medicine, etc. They should also have a minimum of three years of post-doctoral research experience in overseas research laboratories. Additionally, applicants should have a proven track record of research publications and recognitions.

Duration: The fellowship duration is three years, with the possibility of extension for an additional two years based on performance appraisal. Fellows will receive a monthly fellowship of Rs.1,00,000/-.
