Be the champion in your job interview with these body language tips

The Body Language is one of the aspects which lend recruiter attention during a Job Interview. Recruiters do not just listen to you, they watch you too.

It’s the day. You are finally ready to go through this job interview; you repeated your argument several times and thought about all the questions that might be asked during this meeting. You are well prepared; unfortunately this interview can turn into disaster in a few minutes because of some small signals that may be lacking.

Expressions of your face, your gestures, and other behaviors may reveal more about you than you think. There is no secret (see our article “How to succeed in your job interview”) but some tips can be good to take to put the odds on your side!

How to counter them? How can you show that you trust yourself through body language? What are the signals that betray you during a job interview? Read it carefully and be the champion in your job interview with these body language tips:

Establish non verbal communication:

Have eye contact

According to a survey by Career Builder, 70% of candidates would not have eye contact during their interviews, which would reduce a candidate’s chances of going further in the interview process. This will establish true communication and show that you trust yourself! Do not forget to listen to it, it will allow you to respond with accuracy and at the right time.

Do not fix (too much)

To show that you are confident, it is important to fix your recruiter during your exchanges, but do not fix it too long, for fear of creating discomfort between you and your interlocutor.

Adopt the right attitude:

Adopt a straight stance

The posture of a candidate is part of the observations of the recruiter during a job interview. If you lean back it will give you a lazy and nonchalant air. The key to a confident and confident look is your posture. Keep your posture secure, stand up straight and do not cross your legs!

Do not Cross Your Arms

Avoid crossing your arms; you will appear to be on the defensive and not open. To have the right attitude, your arms should be close to the body and your back straight!

Do not fidget

Even if you are nervous (read our article “Managing Maintenance Stress”), be careful not to fidget in all directions. There is nothing worse to distract a recruiter. It is important that he focuses on what you have to say and not what is in your pockets! He must not keep this image of you.

The smile!

It cannot be repeated enough, it is important to smile! The interview will run without a hitch if you put yours! This will build confidence and relax maintenance.

Do not play with your hair or with your face

It may seem odd, but according to recruiting officials (CareerBuilder) claim that 24% of candidates play with their hair or touch their face! Even if the desire is great, try to keep your hands still (when you do not speak).

Watch your hands

Mastery of body language is also to learn to speak with the hands. When you have an idea or support an argument, do not “point” at it, it will be considered an aggressive gesture.

Watch out for the handshake

The handshake must be firm; however, do not crush the recruiter’s. You do not know how? Train with one of your loved ones until it seems as natural as possible.

Moreover, the goodbye must be as assured as the one from the beginning. Also thank your interlocutor for his welcome.

Remember that each board applies according to different people and it is understandable that you are nervous during a job interview! It is important, however, remember the above stated words and be the champion in your job interview with these body language tips.
