Eurowings Will Soon Start Flying A Six Hour Flight From Berlin To Dubai On A Airbus A320neo With Slimline Seats

The German low-cost airline Eurowings looks set to start a new non-stop service between Berlin and Dubai aboard an Airbus A320neo featuring non-reclinable slimline seats throughout that will take more than six hours.

The inaugural Flight is expected to depart Berlin Brandenburg Airport at 7:10 am on October 30, 2023, and land in the United Arab Emirates six hours and 20 minutes later at 4:30 pm, according to filed flight booking plans.

Eurowings hasn’t yet formally announced the new route, but flights are already available to buy on the airline’s website.

One-way tickets on the inaugural flight are available from just €259.99 in Economy with a basic ticket which affords the holder a small cabin bag and nothing else. Eurowings ‘recommends’ passengers upgrade to a ‘Smart’ ticket for €317.99, which includes a small and large cabin bag, as well as a checked bag, seat reservation and priority boarding.

For just €409.99, however, passengers can upgrade to Eurowings’ version of Business Class, dubbed BizClass which includes two large cabin bags, two checked bags and a free onboard meal.

Business Class onboard the Eurowings A320neo is, though, just a standard Euro Business seat which is Economy class seating with a blocked middle seat.

The cheapest one-way flight with Emirates from Munich to Dubai in Economy Class on the same day would cost €490, but that price includes cabin baggage, 30kg of checked luggage, complimentary seat booking and free food and drink.

Emirates doesn’t, however, fly to Berlin, and the only other non-stop flight from the German capital to the Middle East is with Qatar Airways to Doha.

Eurowings is the low-cost subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group and unlike the similarly named Eurowings Discover, the carrier normally only operates short-haul flights across Europe.

By some standards, with a flight time of more than six hours, however, Berlin to Dubai is just about considered a long-haul flight. Some airlines, though, only consider flights of more than 3,000 miles long-haul – the non-stop routing between BER and DXB clocks in at 2,868 miles.
