For The First Time Ever, Delta Air Lines Goes On The Road in the Search of New Flight Attendants

For the first time ever, Delta Air Lines is hitting the road in the search of new flight attendants as the Atlanta-based carrier embarks on a mission to hire a record-breaking 6,000 new crew members by the end of the year.

From today, Delta recruiters and flight attendants will hold 11 recruitment fairs in and around Nashville, the Greater Minneapolis Area and Florida.

The whole point of the outreach activity is to connect with potential recruits outside of Delta’s home base in Georgia, where candidates can learn more about the role and lifestyle of a Delta flight attendant, as well as the application process.

“This is a rare and unique opportunity for locals to engage with our team outside of Atlanta,” commented Jennifer Martin, Managing Director – Inflight Service Customer Experience, Learning and Hiring, ahead of the first event in Nashville on Monday.

From there, the recruitment team will head to Franklin on Tuesday before returning to Nashville on Wednesday and finishing the week in Murfreesboro on Thursday.

The following week, Delta’s head hunters will descend on the Greater Minneapolis Area, visiting Bloomington on March 20, St. Cloud on March 21, Maple Grove on March 22 and Fargo on March 23.

The final week will see the team head to Florida, first to Orlando on March 27 and then Kissimmee on March 28 and March 30.

Anyone interested in attending one of these events should sign up on the Delta website to receive an invitation and further details about each event.

In 2022, Delta hired a record 4,300 new flight attendants but the carrier is hoping to smash its own record by recruiting between 4,500 and 6,000 new crew members in 2023.

In a statement, the airline said it was planning to fully restore capacity in 2023 and is focusing on rebuilding higher yield core hubs, especially its Atlanta Hartsfield home base.
