Walmart is standardizing its patchwork employment policies to offer all its store and warehouse workers paid sick leave. The changes are a nod to the increasing number of local and state governments requiring employers to offer some time off for sick days. But the retail giant is simultaneously cracking down on no-show workers by cutting the number of accepted infractions and tying quarterly bonuses to attendance. Walmart has been overhauling their policies for the past year — relaxing its dress code, raising wages and expanding parental leave — to retain workers in a tight labor market.
