What is Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery (MVHR)? 

Mechanical ventilation Heat Recovery (MVHR) is the only form of ventilation that cuts out the majority of the ventilation heat losses. It works by extracting the stale air from the rooms in your home and replaces it with fresh and filtered outdoor air while a significant amount of energy which heats the house is recovered and transferred again to your rooms. These are especially useful with wet areas such as kitchens and bathrooms. As the systems are designed to permanently remove moist air on a trickle basis whilst distributing clean air at a balanced rate. Typically, heat recovery systems recover about 73-95% of the heat in exhaust air.

Traditional ventilation systems let air in at the outside temperature during operation. This means that you lose the warmth that you have paid for. Whereas heat recovery ventilation ensures that the comfortable temperature in your home remains whilst extracting laden air.
