The Client

An Interior Design business premises which consisted of a large warehouse attached to the back of a shop fronted office which had no Heating system in place. The company had relied on temporary electric heaters for the last 5 years. This meant there were poor working conditions as well as damp in the warehouses which was causing damage to some products and tools stored. This was expensive to run and provided only small amounts of Heat. There was no gas in the building and to install a gas line would cost up to £5,000. The customer contacted Echome to get alternative heating solutions.

The Details

Initially Echome provided heating options to be considered. They included electric boiler installation, permanent electric heaters or an Air Source Heat Pump. Echome recommended that an Air Source Heat Pump was put in place as this would be cost effective, it would save energy and lower the carbon footprint of the building. The Heat Pump is a reliable solution that will ensure the temperature is maintained at a comfortable level withdrawing little energy. This enabled heating to both the warehouse and office separately. In order to emit the heat from the heat pump, fan heaters were chosen, as permanent flooring prevented the installation of under floor heating. Echome sourced the heat pump and heaters using the close relationship between Echome and Seibel Eltron. Two highly qualified Echome engineers then installed both the heat pump and fan, this took just 5 days.
