We are delighted to currently be involved in an impressive renovation project overlooking one of the capital’s most popular and historic tourist attractions – Trafalgar Square.

The property – 16 Whitehall – is undergoing a £3million transformation by McCarthy Reynolds Construction and we are honoured to be playing a key role in creating a luxurious and contemporary feel in the property.

In addition to fitting two opulent bathrooms and a water closet, our experienced engineers also installed a brand new boiler and cylinder while designing the mechanics behind it to ensure everything works as it should. We have fitted a booster to increase the apartment’s water pressure, ensuring it is first-rate in the deluxe, state-of-the-art shower our team installed.

Once finished, what will help the flawless apartment stand out, will be the Underfloor Heating System that our team meticulously fitted using the Variotherm system, of which we are the registered installers in London. The system involves using routers in boards which can be expensive, although Variotherm produce their own boards which we get direct from them, making the process more economical. Producing their own boards makes the system much more exclusive and also includes a 10 year warranty.

The Variotherm Underfloor Heating system is an overlay system which can be put on top of an existing system. It is designed to ‘retrofit’ and can be put in an existing floor with the benefit that any type of flooring can be put on top of it. As you can see from the images below, pipes are accurately placed around the boards – ensuring the heat is evenly distributed and there are no cold spots – before a filling compound is added, filling in the gaps and covering the pipes. As the system is so close to the surface, the reaction time is impressive and there are no long waits for the floor to heat up.

The location of this project is second to none, and the views our team have while completing the work are amazing. However, working in such a grand location can have it drawbacks. We are unable to park our vans outside the property, so our team arrive around 6am and unloaded the van quickly and efficiently so it has gone by 6:15am. However, we are willing and eager to work around the challenges that working in Central London can involve. With restrictions such as parking, we would discuss the logistics and come up with a solution to ensure the job is completed without any disruption to the client.

As with all the work we do, 16 Whitehall have the peace of mind that our workmanship comes with a two year warranty.
