Its been an exciting week at Mercian Labels as we upgraded our Colour management software, enabling us to develop our colour accuracy and consistency to another level.

We’ve invested in a new Colour Management server as well as colour calibration equipment that enables us to standardise the colour we produce across our digital presses to each other to a known standard, and finished labels to the original brand owners artwork-intended colour.

Its another significant step towards producing labels “ … Right First Time… On Time.” as we set out to do in our Quality Policy.

Looking at the results of the test prints this week from our Xeikon digital presses, it’s clear to our professional eye that the colours are a much closer match to a calibrated test print, and that the brightness and chromaticity of our images now are noticeably improved.

Its reassuring to know that our artwork is now processed and outputted to an agreed international standard colour gamut. Very few label companies can claim to match this.

With the new Colour Management Software and routine now in place we are looking forward to feedback on the new and improved colours – another successful week!
