What types of companies hire life coaches?

The other day I saw a former NLP and life coach training student of mine ask a question in our community: “Does anyone know any Companies that hire life coaches?”

Many of my students can answer this question, as can I. The problem is we are the life coaches that they hired. And we aren’t likely to tell her to apply for a job at a company that hired us!

I was pleasantly surprised that major Companies Hire life coaches these days. The first time I read about it was in Tony Hsieh’s book, “Delivering Happiness”. Tony founded Zappos which was later acquired by Amazon – and Amazon is one of the companies that do, in fact, employ full-time coaches. In his book, Hsieh discusses how he applied the concepts of life coaching to his business, Zappos. By using life coaches, he was able to create a company culture that was based on happiness and fulfillment rather than just profit. This helped him to attract and retain top talent, which in turn led to increased sales and profitability.

Many Fortune 500 companies invite coaches or consultants in the field of motivation to come over to consult, teach or give speeches. Think of the type of gigs that Tony Robbins, Simon Sinek, and Robin Sharma get.

There are all sorts of companies that also hire life coaches on a full-time basis. Some of the most common include corporations, small businesses, and non-profit organizations. Life coaches can be hired to help with a variety of things, such as developing a growth strategy, improving communication, or increasing employee productivity.

Most companies hire life coaches because they want their employees to be the best that they can be. A life coach can help employees learn new skills, set and achieve goals, and stay motivated. They can also help resolve conflicts and improve relationships within the workplace.

To get a job as a life coach working for a company is achieved in similar ways as you would get any job in a competitive space. I have earned my corporate clients as a result of training, practice, networking, and marketing! Some people say it is about being at the right time in the right place, that’s not untrue. But they are still are still the result of effort at the end of the day.
