Sono Tante le parole
sono stanche le parole
virus
cambio direzione cambio vocali
gioco all’anagramma
finalmente un suono somigliante ma migliore
verso
verso i tempi del ricordo
verso la guarigione
verso la gioia
verso la gratitudine
sono tante le parole
sono stanche le parole
una è scomparsa dal vocabolario
“io” non esiste più
“noi” è la soluzione magica
noi abitanti del mondo
sono tante le dediche
agli operatori sanitari eroi mascherati
senza medaglie al valore
agli ammalati che respirano
la loro compagnia
agli arcobaleni disegnati dai bambini
ai ragazzini alle loro chat
parchi giochi senza erba
agli innamorati e ai baci inventati
a chi lavora preoccupato
e a chi non può farlo
ai vecchi affacciati alle finestre
alle piazze deserte
e soprattutto prima di tutto
alle vittime
private dell’ultimo saluto
a loro
nascondiamo il dolore
e regaliamo
un soffio di pace e libertà.

The Need for Verses
The words they are many
The words they are tired
My name is Virus
I change direction and I change vowels
I toy with my anagram
Finally I hear a sound that’s similar but better
Toward …
Toward times of remembrance
Toward healing
Toward joy
Toward gratitude
The words they are many
The words they are tired
One word has disappeared from our vocabulary
The word I no longer exists
We is the magic solution
We who are the inhabitants of the world
Many are the dedications that we make:
To the health care workers, those masked superheroes
Without medals of valor
To the sick who breathe
Their presence among us
To the rainbows designed by children
To the kids who chat on their smartphones
At amusement parks without grass
To the lovers and their invented kisses
To those who worry while they work
And to those who cannot work at all
To the elderly with their faces pressed against the windows
To the deserted piazzas
And above all, most importantly,
To the victims
Deprived of their final farewell
To them
Let us hide our sadness
And let us gift them
A breath of peace and liberty.
