Back in December, Florida A&M University announced that it needs hundreds of thousands of dollars for critical repairs to Bragg Memorial Stadium.
“The Florida A&M University Rattlers will play football at Bragg Stadium. Although there are some areas of the stadium which require repairs, our plan is to play the spring game there as well as fall football,” Overton said. “Engineers have provided a plan and timeline to complete the immediate repairs before the first home game in 2017.”
According to Tallahassee Democrat reporter Jordan Culver, FAMU Chief Financial Officer Angela Poole explained that if FAMU doesn’t obtain the full $622,000 required for the mandatory repairs, then some sections of the football stadium will have to be closed.
Last week, Athletic Director Milton Overton sent a statementto WTXL reassuring the public that Bragg will be open for the 2017.

The statement didn’t comment on whether enough repairs will be finished in order to prevent sections of Bragg from being closed.
FAMU has had less to spend on athletics in recent years mainly because of the enrollment decline, which has reduced the amount that the university receives from student athletic fees.
