CySEC warns against fraudulent emails

Cyprus financial regulator Cysec has warned the public that emails are being sent by unidentified sources, illegally using the logo or the name of CySEC.

These impersonators emails seek payment of so-called outstanding sums to or from the Commission.

This is not the first time CySEC issues an impersonators scam warning. The regulator has already issued several warnings like this – two times back in 2017, as well as June, November, October 2016, and most recent – in November 2018.

The regulator confirmed that it has nothing to do with the specific emails. The official email address of the CySEC accounts department is [email protected].

CySEC urges anyone who receives the abovementioned email or is in doubt about any relevant communication from the CySEC, to contact the Commission on the above email.
