Rani of Jhansi Regiment was the first regiment of women soldiers in Indian army who served under Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Comprising of 500 women, they were trained in physical, military tactics, and strategy. They took part in guerilla warfare and served in hospital treating the wounded. Even Japanese were impressed by their bravery.
