An unnamed Taxpayer Owed the government Rs 21,870 crore for the assessment year(AY)  2014-15, which was 11% of the total income tax, according to data. There were 64 individuals with a tax liability of over Rs 500 crore, with a total amount of tax to be paid Rs 113,068 crore. India’s total income tax during 2014-15 was Rs 446,719 crore.
