The income tax department found around Rs 40 crore Deposit in Defunct Notes at Axis Bank branch in New Delhi. Apparently, three accounts were opened in the branch post demonetisation for depositing the said amount, which was later transferred. The interrogation revealed that bank managers were providing extended counter facilities.
