Question:

Hello I was wondering if you could help me lately I’ve been thinking of moving to a new city to continue pursuing my dreams. Where I currently live has limited opportunities also I would like a fresh start. I’ve have been pursuing my passion for about three years now and feel like it time for a change. There’s only two problems one is the city is about 400 miles away from my hometown. Second if I move I would leave behind my boyfriend who I care deeply about, but I have only been dating him for about six months. My question is when is the right time to take that leap of faith and move?

Answer:

This was one of the most interesting questions I’ve gotten so far. Many of us have or will face tough decisions in our lives. Whether it’s to move to a new city for our career or to make life altering changes to our life. Therefore to answer your question I would say go for it if its truly what you want to do.  I could tell you to make a pro’s and con’s list, save up enough money so you can be more secure when you move or don’t listen to the naysayers (and there will be naysayers). Even if you do all the following the decision is truly up to you. Now about your relationship I would suggest having a conversation with him about the situation if you do intend to move. Also take sometime to evaluate your relationship and determine if it is something you could see being long-term. If so, maybe you can workout a long distance relationship until one you decide to move.
