Dorados de Sinaloa, a Mexican second-tier club has appointed Argentine legend Diego Maradona as their new Manager.

Maradona has featured in 91 international matches for his country between 1977 and 1994 and has won the World Cup with Argentina. He was also the manager of the Argentine national team from 2008 to 2010.

Al-Fujairah, a club based in the United Arab Emirates was his last job as a manager, which ended in April.

Newspapers in Mexico claimed that the Argentine legend had been hired to take over from Francisco Gomez. Gomez was sacked as the coach of Dorados de Sinaloa this Thursday.

‘Welcome Diego’ and ‘Make it a 10’, depicting the jersey number of Marodana as a player were the messages with a short video posted by Dorados de Sinaloa on their social media channels.

Maradona played for a good number of clubs that including Argentinos Juniors, Boca Juniors, Barcelona, and Napoli among the other clubs during the time he was playing football.

He is regarded as one of the greatest players ever to have played the game of football.

In 1986, Maradona won the World Cup with Argentina and then went on to coach the Argentina football team in the FIFA World Cup played in South Africa in 2010.

It was in 2003, that Dorados de Sinaloa came into existence, and Machester City manager Pep Guardiola for six months in 1996.
