Here Are the Things That Home Buyers Really Want

Home buyers have a long list of must-haves when they are searching for a property. Home sellers that want to attract serious buyers should put a little time and effort into making sure that their home has at least a few of the upgrades that today’s home buyers consider ‘must haves’ if they want the home to sell quickly. Even if homeowners aren’t prepared to invest in huge remodels there are things that they can upgrade in the home that will make the home a lot more appealing to 2019 homebuyers like: Replace the Flooring Very few things are more unappealing to buyers than old carpet, especially if the carpet is pink, or green, or another retro color. One of the best investments that a home seller can make is ripping up old carpet and installing modern new floors. Hardwood floors are beloved by buyers but if the homeowner doesn’t want to take on the huge cost of hardwood floors there are lot of affordable vinyl flooring options that mimic the look of wood floors. Make sure that the flooring is consistent throughout the main floor also to make the home look more pulled together. Upgrade the Appliances Investing in upgraded appliances is a smart use of any remodeling budget that the homeowners have. New Energy Efficient Appliances are a great selling point, especially if they also have smart technology. Today’s homebuyers are very comfortable with technology and they know how to use technology to raise their quality of life. They will be much more interested in homes that have modern energy efficient appliances already installed so that they don’t need to replace the appliances before they move or just after they move in. Add A Mudroom Today’s families are always on the go and a cramped entryway just doesn’t work for them. Parents who are buying homes today are willing to compromise on their other must-haves in order to get a home with a great mudroom. A mudroom that is large and has plenty of built-in storage is a huge draw for buyers. Home sellers who want to really wow potential buyers should consider adding things like utility sinks, custom cabinetry, and a dog washing station in the mudroom. Add or Upgrade Bathrooms Bathrooms that are outdated are a deal killer for home buyers. Modern home buyers don’t want the hassle or expense of remodeling bathrooms in an older home. Homeowners should do whatever their budget allows to modernize the bathroom, add double sinks or storage, and give the bathrooms a fresh and clean look to attract buyers. New lights and hardware can really make a difference in the look and feel of the bathrooms. Adding additional bathrooms may be a big cost for homeowners to take on but that investment will pay off by attracting a lot more buyers.
